Information for Conference Delegates

Accommodation at Keble

Bed and breakfast is available at Keble College for £69.50 per night, you can reserve a room when you book your place at the conference. Rooms at Keble College will be available from 14.00. Keys can be picked up from the Lodge at the entrance to the College. Check out is 10.00. Luggage storage will be provided. Breakfast will be served in the dining hall. All bedrooms at Keble College have telephones and an internet connection.

Check In/Check Out
Availability of rooms cannot be guaranteed before 14.00 hrs on day or arrival. Rooms must be vacated by 10.00 hrs on day of departure.

Rooms
Rooms will be serviced daily together with refills of soap, shampoo, coffee and tea refills. Towels will be changed every other day, if a delegate wishes towels to be changed everyday they should be left on the floor of the bathroom.

An information pack will be found in each bedroom. This pack contains the following information:

  • On Site Facilities
  • Local Information
  • Map of the College

Irons, Ironing Boards and Hairdryers
These can be borrowed from the Porters Lodge. They must be returned to the Lodge after use.

Laundry
The college operates a self-service launderette. Cost is £1 per wash and £1 per dry.

Smoking
All meeting rooms in College and the Dining Hall are non-smoking areas. Ashtrays are provided around the exterior of the buildings.

Smoking in bedrooms is permitted but cigarettes must be extinguished properly.

Telephones
Each room is equipped with a telephone and the number for your room is marked on the front of the telephone. To operate the telephone delegates must purchase a telephone card from the Lodge. Cards are available in £5 and £10 denominations.

Incoming calls must be directed through the Lodge (01865 272727. Messages for conference delegates will be passed to the Conference Organiser or delegates will be notified via the blackboard outside the Lodge.

Parking

There will be no parking available at Keble College and parking in Oxford city centre is very limited.

A nearby car park with spaces for 50 cars has been hired and a shuttle bus to and from the conference will be provided at the start and end of each day. The fee for parking on this site is £15 per day + VAT and must be booked in advance.

However, delegates travelling to the conference by car are strongly advised to use Oxford's Park and Ride service. Five Park and Ride sites currently operate in Oxford. They provide secure parking for up to 72 hours and an inexpensive and frequent shuttle service to Oxford city centre. Keble College is a short walk (5-15 minutes) or taxi ride from the various Park and Ride drop off points.
